Defiant Whisky is a single malt whisky which is not conforming to the norms that most American Whiskey makers are sticking to. Based in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Defiant whisky is created by a group of Salvage Divers that bring special talents to the table to create a spirit that brings a creative balance to any serious whisky drinkers palate. The goal is to use only the finest ingredients to create a spirit that pushes the boundaries and still creates a bold flavor that people can admire and support.
Defiant Whisky uses only four ingredients to perfect their unique spirit. American White Oak Barrels that are toasted to bring out more flavor, specialty cured yeast, two roe premium barley, and pure Blue Ridge Mountain spring water. The amount of aging in the American white oak barrels is unknown, however with Defiant being a newer distillery in operation they most likely have some “older” whisky in store for us. Taking single malt Scotch traditions and blending them with American craft ideas is primarily what Defiant distilling is all about. This is what separates them from the rest of the herd and truly setting their spirit apart from all others. As far as the flavor goes, Defiant is shattering the norms and bringing the closest thing to a Scotch/American Whisky to life in a perfectly balanced state.
